Angel Tattoo Designs - How to Find Best Angel Tattoos Designs You Will Love Forever

Angel tattoos Designs actually have very special meanings to the person who had them. Sometimes, they would mean purely spiritual or religious, or sometimes they're combined with other designs and names to signify a certain meaning.

Origins and Meanings

The word "angel" is a Latin word that means a messenger of God. It was said that there are three choirs, each of them have different ranks, as well as duty. Although their main role is to watch over us, others were also tasked to guard over the realm between heaven and earth and provide wisdom and protection to the whole mankind. They have universal appeal as depicted in Christian, Islamic and Jewish religions.

The most common angel tattoo is the guardian angels and the falling angels. Guardian Angels It was said that guardian angels are always with us in this world. They guide you wherever you are and they are sent by God in order to protect us in this world. They're being depicted as a human with large wings and are very loving and protecting. They are often shown as glowing or shining and sometimes floating, while looking down at us. Most people would choose this kind of tattoo in order to have a connection with their guardian angel.

Fallen Angels

Another common of the angel tattoos designs is the fallen angel tattoo, and was said to have thrown out of heaven as a form of punishment. They're rebellious of sorts, and they come to earth to mingle with mortals and they are being tasked to roam the earth until the judgment day comes. They are depicted as a human looking upwards, with face covered and their wings are usually broken.

People would get to have this kind of angel tattoos designs done on their body to symbolize their bad streak and to show their rebellious side.

Combined Meanings It is certainly a great way to make it personalize, by combining the angel with other designs. An example is just a wing symbol which could mean freedom and the way to rise up above your problems.

Brian's Ink Speaks About Art

I met Brian in Barnes & Noble, Union Square, back in August and he shared two tattoos with us. Put your thinking caps on, folks, because Brian, who is a video artist (website here), has very cerebral ink.

First up is this tattoo, on Brian's left biceps:

This tattoo is based on an illustration entitled "Every Night We Are Haunted by a Dream" by the artist Alfred Kubin (1877-1959).

Jede Nacht besucht uns ein Traum (Every Night We are Haunted by a Dream), ca. 1902-03
Pen and ink, brush, wash, and spray on paper
39.1 x 31.8 cm (15 3/8 x 12 1/2 in.)
Albertina, Vienna
Brian explained that this work corresponded very closely to the publication of Sigmund Freud's The Interpretation of Dreams, and that Kubin's illustration represents "art between the cusp of pre-surrealism/expressionism and surrealism". It speaks to Brian's understanding of the perception of dreams and art.

Brian also had these words inscribed on his inner right forearm:

The words "Créer Dangereusement" are the French title of a 1957 essay by Albert Camus entitled "Create Dangerously". This "essay on realism and artistic creation" likewise spoke to Brian who acknowledged that "all art is a political act". It makes perfect sense, if you think about it, in that no great work of art was ever created by the artist playing it safe. It is those who created dangerously that are remembered as trailblazers and icons in their respective fields.

Brian had both of these tattoos done in Austin, Texas.

Thanks to Brian for sharing his artistic ink with us here on Tattoosday!

Adam Lambert Tattoos

Adam Lambert is an American singer-songwriter who is best known as the runner-up on the eighth season of television talent show American Idol.

Adam Lambert currently has two tattoos, both of which are located on his inner right wrist, including an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection and royal power, which is called Eye of Horus.

The other wrist tattoo design is a symbol which is called infinity, and is used in mathematics and physics, representing quantity without bound or end.

Some people believe that the infinity design symbolizes an everlasting life cycle, similar to eternal life granted by God for our good deeds on earth.
